Pastor’s Message: December 17, 2021

Dear Parish Family,
On this Fourth Sunday of Advent in this weekend’s gospel we hear how Elizabeth describes Mary as the first disciple, as the one who believed that God’s word to her would be fulfilled.
Mary’s openness to God, Mary’s yes, her heart filled with wonder and praise, her soul magnified the Lord and her spirit rejoiced in God our Savior. She allowed God to work through her so that salvation might come to everyone. We are called to do the same. Because of this, Mary is a model and symbol of the Church. May we be like Mary, open and cooperative in God’s plan for salvation. Through Mary’s intercession, may we do what she did after the Annunciation and bring Jesus out to others.
In this last week of Advent let us spend time in spiritual preparation for the coming birth of Jesus Christ at Christmas.
God Bless,
Fr. Cyrus
