Wedding Planning at Church of the Assumption

The Sacrament of Marriage is a covenant, which is more than a contract. Covenant always expresses a relationship between persons. The celebration of marriage is also a liturgical act, appropriately held in a public liturgy at church. Catholics are urged to celebrate their marriage within the Eucharistic Liturgy.

To prepare for this lifelong commitment, Diocesan policy requires that all engaged couples attend a marriage preparation (Pre-Cana) retreat.  Please visit the Diocese of Bridgeport website for details:   Pre-Cana Marriage Prep

Additionally, couples must contact the Parish Office at least six months before the proposed wedding date. To begin your wedding planning, please call Michelle Hankey in the Parish Office for further information 203-227- 5161.
