Pastor’s Message: May 28, 2023

Dear Parish Family,

This weekend, we celebrate Pentecost Sunday and the Season of Easter comes to an end.

On Pentecost we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Apostles gathered in the upper room in Jerusalem; this event marks the beginning of the Church.

When the Holy Spirit descended on the Apostles, they preached the Good News of Jesus Christ. Miraculously, people of many different languages and nations could understand the Apostles in their own languages. This miracle reflected God’s desire for the Gospel to be preached to all, and for all the peoples of the earth to be united in faith.

Jesus sends us his Holy Spirit also to strengthen us and to give us courage to spread his Good News throughout the world.

This Sunday at the 11am Mass five of our adult parishioners will receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation. We congratulate them and pray their hearts be open to the work of the Spirit.

God Bless,
Fr. Cyrus
