Pastor’s Message: December 11, 2022

Dear Parish Family,

This weekend we celebrate the Third Sunday of Advent it is called “Gaudete” Sunday. The term Gaudete means to rejoice! It is a time of joy, a time of being thankful for all that we have been given. We rejoice in the Savior who has come, who is present, and who promises a return.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again, i say, rejoice. Indeed, the Lord is near! (Phil, 4:4-5)

Pope Benedict XVI commenting on these words of St. Paul said: “If the loved one, love, the greatest gift of my life, is close to me, if I can be convinced that the one who loves me is close to me, even in situations of suffering, JOY THAT REMAINS IN THE DEPTH OF MY HEART IS EVER GREATER THAN ALL SUFFERINGS (Benedict XVI, FIRST GENERAL CONGREGATION OF THE SYNOD OF BISHOPS, Oct. 3, 2005).”

God Bless
Fr. Cyrus
