The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation and completes Baptism.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit are increased to provide the strength to live out God’s call to serve the Church in various ways, especially through faithful witness.

Our mission is to guide students into a lasting relationship with Christ and His Church, foster strong Catholic identity, and make disciples of Christ through service to others.

Confirmation Program for 2022-2023

We are delighted to welcome 7 & 8th graders to our Confirmation Program.

Our curriculum consists of utilizing the CHOSEN Program, published by Ascension Press . Our students begin preparation in the 7th grade and 8th graders continue in depth instruction with Confirmation offered in the Spring of 2023.

This year’s program has been configured in the following way:

  • Students will meet with a catechist on premise here at the parish 3 Sundays of each month. Class sizes will be limited.
  • Classes for 7 & 8th graders will be held on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10:10 a.m. This allows for family attendance at the 10:30 a.m. Mass.
  • We will stay connected with our students/Confirmation candidates throughout the month by providing outreach/volunteer opportunities, gathering (when possible and appropriate) as a group at Mass.

CHOSEN is a dialog-driven program whose purpose is to engage young people in discussion of our faith.  The video component provides the teaching; catechists are the facilitators.  However, CHOSEN allows access to the videos on line and features a digital workbook so that families can also participate. Should we need to pivot to a total remote program, we will be prepared to do so and will accompany our students every step of the way.
