The Sacrament of Confirmation

Confirmation is a Sacrament of Initiation and completes Baptism.  The gifts of the Holy Spirit are increased to provide the strength to live out God’s call to serve the Church in various ways, especially through faithful witness.

We prepare our students for this important sacrament by utilizing the CHOSEN Program published by Ascension Press. Our mission is to guide students into a lasting relationship with Christ and His Church, foster strong Catholic identity, and make disciples of Christ through service to others.

This is a two year preparation program for 7 & 8th graders.  Candidates for Confirmation are asked to:

*Attend Mass every Sunday and all Holy Days of Obligation
*Attend and participate in all classes
*Perform 6 hours of community service each year using the Corporal & Spiritual Works of Mercy as guidelines.
*Attend a retreat

There may be other assignments throughout the year. The Sacrament of Confirmation is scheduled by the Bishop’s Office sometime in the spring of 8th grade.
